Your donation is already changing lives.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, hundreds of people donated, shared our campaign, organized initiatives and mobilized their communities. This is what we have done with that trust.
The need is still enormous.
The earthquakes of June 24 left a trail of destruction that far exceeds available resources. The most critical phase — rebuilding lives — is just beginning.
This is not a short race. It's an ultramarathon. And we will be here for the entire distance.
Why we focused on medium and long-term recovery.
From the beginning we made an important decision: not to focus on the immediate response. The first days after a disaster require highly specialized capabilities — rescue, emergency medical care, mass aid distribution — that are not Ventura's area of expertise.
Our strength lies in a different phase: medium and long-term recovery, when needs remain enormous but resources begin to diminish. That is where we can add the greatest value, designing comprehensive solutions and working with specialized allies.
In the first days there is much confusion on the ground: blocked routes, incomplete information, needs changing hour by hour. A rushed response can compromise the effectiveness of aid.
Three main lines of investment.
School & educational community recovery
Combining nutrition, psycho-emotional support and other tools to restore a safe learning environment for children affected by the earthquake.
Recovery of displaced families
Supporting essential needs such as nutrition, psychological care and recovery of livelihoods for families who lost everything.
Children & youth with amputations
Comprehensive care including prosthetics, physical rehabilitation and psycho-emotional support during the first 12 months of recovery.
That work has already begun.
In one of the areas hardest hit by the earthquake, the school opened its doors exceptionally during vacation to create Aula Abierta: a safe space with educational, recreational and psycho-emotional support activities for affected children.
Ventura is providing daily breakfasts to 180–200 children for five to six weeks, for a total of at least 4,200 meals.
We chose to work with Pizzería Rústica, a local supplier from La Guaira, so that the food resources also help stimulate the local economy. Additionally, FEMSA Venezuela generously donated all the hydration needed for the program.
At Unidad Educativa Divina Providencia, we are supporting another deeply affected school community with 70 daily meals from July 20 through the end of August, for an estimated total of 2,940 meals, in alliance with Alimenta la Solidaridad.
Additionally, alongside Entre — a platform specialized in coaching and therapy — we are facilitating psychological support for staff members and the broader school community.
