WHAT IS THIS PROJECT ABOUT?
In Venezuela, 9 out of 10 women face menstrual poverty because they lack the financial resources to purchase menstrual products and manage their hygiene properly. Thanks to the well-established partnership between Days for Girls and Ventura, a donation of 5,800 washable menstrual kits for Venezuela was successfully arranged. Ventura raised the necessary funds and managed the strategic alliance for ground-level implementation, counting on the dedicated work of Fe y Alegría and Fundación San José. This effort successfully aided 5,800 girls and women in the most vulnerable areas across 4 states in eastern Venezuela: Monagas, Anzoátegui, Sucre, and Nueva Esparta. Thanks to the success and deployment of this initiative, we impacted more than 30 vulnerable communities and conducted 266 sexual health and feminine hygiene workshops. In total, Fe y Alegría distributed 4,000 kits, while Fundación San José delivered the remaining 1,800. With the support of our allies and donors, thousands of Venezuelan girls and women overcame menstrual poverty and today experience their cycle with dignity, education, and safety.
